  • Ouarzazate — Lunch and the Gate of the Desert
  • Stop here for lunch. Your guide knows where the locals actually eat — not the tourist-facing places on the main boulevard, but the side-street restaurants on Avenue Mohammed V where a proper tagine costs 40 dirhams and tastes like someone's mother made it.
  • After lunch, a short stop at the Taourirt Kasbah — a 19th-century fortress at the east end of town that once belonged to the Glaoui clan. It is smaller than Ait Benhaddou but less visited, and the carved plaster interior work is some of the finest in the region.
  • Not Included: Lunches on Day 1 and Day 2 (budget 60–100 MAD per person at local restaurants). Entrance fee to Ait Benhaddou (approx. 10 MAD). Entrance to Atlas Film Studios in Ouarzazate (approx. 50 MAD). Personal travel insurance. Tips for your guide and camp staff (optional but appreciated).
